Ohio Chapter Fire Investigator Training

NSPII-Ohio Chapter presents Hot Topics:  Intro to Meth, Meth Fires and Explosives in Ohio on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ohio Fire Academy, 8895 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH  43068.  This one-day training seminar is for law enforcement and fire department personnel and the Schedule of Events is as follows:

  • Opening Welcome remarks by State Fire Marshal Larry Flowers.
  • In the morning, attendees will be trained on what is used to manufacture meth, the hazards involved, how to recognize the components of a meth lab, and the protocols to follow when a lab is discovered.
  • In the afternoon, topics covered will be an introduction to explosives, understanding explosives and IEDs, response assets for post-blast investigation and evidence collection, forensic lab services related to meth cases and explosives, field testing equipment by the lab, a tour of the State Fire Marshal's Lab, and an explosives K-9 demonstration.

FREE SEMINAR for law enforcement and fire department personnel.  Cost for non-public officials is $50.00.
